About

Rebecca Hixon

I am an Assistant Professor of English at St. Bonaventure University, where I teach general composition and literature courses, especially those focused on Early Modern literature. I received my PhD from the University of Michigan in 2023.

My research focuses on how contemporary adaptations of some of Shakespeare’s most controversial plays can act as windows into popular culture, genre, and current intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and class.

I am currently the Notes section editor for Borrowers and Lenders: The Journal of Shakespeare and Appropriation.
